Demonstration through Graz
Graz has sent a strong message: following Wednesday’s demonstration in Vienna, which drew 28,000 participants, over 6,500 demonstrators marched through the streets of the Styrian capital on Thursday. After setting off from Wilhelm-Fischer-Allee, the procession wound its way through the City Park, along Hofgasse and Sporgasse to the Hauptplatz, where the closing rally took place. The Archduke Johann Fountain served as an impressive backdrop against which representatives of the universities and students strongly criticised the government’s plans to cut the university budget and clearly outlined the consequences of this move.
Med Uni Graz would like to thank all staff, students and everyone else who took to the streets for the future of Graz as a centre of science.
