Higher Education Structural Funding Project ‘RDAweb’ completed
The aim of the project was to further develop the existing RDA (Research, Documentation and Analysis) documentation system, which is in use in Vienna and Graz, into a modern, platform-independent application. As part of the ‘Austrian Health & Research Data Network (AHRDN)’ initiative, this is intended to make retrospectively and longitudinally collected datasets more accessible to Austria’s medical universities in accordance with the FAIR principles, and to establish an inter-university cooperation platform.
The “Open Clinical Research Documentation & Analysis (RDAweb)” project, funded by the Higher Education Structural Funds, was launched in 2023 as a joint initiative by the three medical universities of Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck and was completed on schedule at the end of June 2026. The project was carried out under the leadership of the Medical University of Vienna; at the Medical University of Graz, the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation at the Medical University of Graz was involved in this project and coordinated the development of the technical infrastructure at the Graz site, as well as the migration of data from existing research projects from the predecessor systems ARCHIMED/RDA, which had been in place for almost 30 years.
RDAweb is now also available to researchers in Graz for scientific medical documentation and is managed by the data management team at the Institute of Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation.
