The WKO selects the best projects by young talent

For the 14th time, the Styrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO Steiermark) has awarded research grants for business-related diploma and Master’s theses. Three students from the Medical University of Graz were honoured at the awards ceremony for their outstanding academic work.
- Leo Matthias Gramelsberger, a dental student, received the WKO scholarship for his Master’s thesis entitled ‘Comparison and validation of the technical accuracy of large language models (ChatGPT-3.5, Perplexity, Google Gemini and Venice) in addressing oral surgery-related questions in dentistry”. In it, he examined the technical quality of various AI language models in a dental context.
- Edona Troshani, a medical student, was awarded the research scholarship for her dissertation “The influence of neuronal ion channels on the perception of movement”. Her work focuses on the role of neuronal ion channels in the perception of movement.
- Lukas Wutti, a medical student, was also honoured. He received the award for his Master’s thesis entitled ‘Evaluation of an innovative intravascular glucose sensor for continuous glucose monitoring in intensive care medicine’. His research focuses on new approaches to continuous glucose monitoring in patients receiving intensive care.
The Medical University of Graz warmly congratulates the award-winning students on this achievement and wishes them continued success in their scientific careers.
