The international PhD programme at the Medical University of Graz offers a multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art doctoral programme that contributes to the advancement of the biomedical sciences through independent research.

We are advertising PhD positions in three doctoral programmes:

  • The PhD programme in “Molecular Medicine” offers interdisciplinary research training across all research areas at the Medical University of Graz, with the aim of training scientists who bridge the gap between basic biomedical research and preclinical and clinical science.
  • The PhD programme “Translational Immunology and Metabolism in Oncology” (TIMO) is a cancer-focused, translational training programme with an emphasis on cancer metabolism and anti-tumour immunity, conducted under the joint supervision of preclinical and clinical researchers to ensure sound translational training for both clinicians and basic scientists.
  • The PhD programme “TRP-dependent Cation Signalling” (TRPC), funded by the FWF and the Medical University of Graz, investigates the dysregulation of TRP ion channels in lung, heart and brain diseases using interdisciplinary approaches ranging from computer-based models to in vivo experiments to improve our understanding of disease mechanisms.
