Open House 2026: A day to get a taste of university life

On 4 March 2026, the Medical University of Graz opened its doors to give prospective students a comprehensive insight into studying at the university. The Open House offered a structured mix of informative talks, academic insights and guided tours.

The day began in Lecture Theatre 1 with an official welcome and a series of concise presentations on the degree programmes in Human Medicine, Dentistry, Interprofessional Health and Nursing Sciences, and Psychotherapy. The admissions process for these programmes was also explained in detail. Afterwards, attendees had the opportunity to attend the lectures ‘From Idea to Medicine’ and ‘Cells – The Basic Unit of Life’. Furthermore, prospective students could also register in advance for guided tours. The guided tours of various university departments, such as Medical Chemistry or Pathology, provided insights into laboratory areas that are otherwise only accessible to students and researchers. Between the programme items, students, lecturers and the ÖH Med Graz were available for personal discussions. Many prospective students took this opportunity to find out about everyday student life and organisational procedures.
